2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 66.
A homemaker, she was
born Sept. 2, 1933, in Lahaina, Maui.
She is survived by her husband:
Agapito “Pete” Navor of Anahola; one daughter: Ulu (Colin) Braun of Anahola;
two half-daughters: Cecila Navalta and Adalina Negrillo; two sons: Agapito
(Gail) Navor and Ricardo (Adele) Navor; one sister: Sweetheart (Henry) Lau of
O’ahu; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30, at
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. where services will be celebrated
at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and that
flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Julia Rogers-Balmores
Julia Marie Rogers-Balmores of
Everett, Wash. and formerly of Kaua’i died on Sept. 6, 2000 in Everett at the
age of 25.
Born on Nov. 21, 1974 in Everett,Wa., she attended college at
WSU in Pullman, Wa. after which she became a resident of Kaua’i and attended
K.C.C. She worked at several South Shore restaurants including Keoki’s. She
moved back to Washington, attended The Culinary Institute of Seattle, married,
and worked as a Manager for Banana Republic, and The Flying Fish restaurant in
Seattle.
Julia is survived by her husband Mario of Everett, and Kaua’i, and
her daughter Keanna Haley Rogers-Balmores; her parents Sue and Mick McDonough;
her father Raleigh Rogers; her sister Jennifer McDonough, her niece Brianna
Steigler; her grandparents Patricia and Al Johnson; all of Everett, Wa. She is
also survived by her maternal aunt Barbara Watts of Kaua’i, her uncles Roy
Watts, and Michael Watts; her paternal aunt Karen Buchanan; all of Washington
state; as well as numerous hanai nieces and nephews of Kauai.
A trust has
been established in the name of Keanna Haley Rogers-Balmores at Washington
Mutual Savings Bank. All donations may be sent in c/o Sue McDonough, 3905

Services were held in
Everett, Wa. on Sept. 9. Services on Kauai will be held at a later
date.
Lucrecia Guerrero
Lucrecia Bunao Guerrero of Kilauea died Sept.
19, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.
A homemaker, she
was born Nov. 23, 1922, in the Philippines.
She is survived by three
daughters: Carmen (Domingo) Casino, Angelina (Marlo) Merano and Arsenia (Romy)
Butac, all of Hanama’ulu; one son: Donaery (Jovita) Guerrero, Sr. of
Hanama’ulu; two brothers: Fausto (Leonora) Bunao, Jr., of Kilauea and Josie
Bunao of the Philippines; three brothers-in-law: Basilio (Florence) Guerrero,
Bonifacio Guerrero, and Maximo Guerrero, all of the Philippines; one
sister-in-law: Marcelina Bunao ; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Sept.
28, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; service at 7
p.m. Visitation is again scheduled for Friday, Sept. 29, at Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia from 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10
a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is
suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Kathrine Taniguchi
Kathrine “Kay” Taniguchi of Kekaha,
Kauai, died at home on Sept. 21, 2000, at the age of 83.
Born in Kekaha,
Kaua’i on Oct. 5, 1916, she is survived by: son: Daryl (Marlene) Taniguchi of
‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i; two grandchildren: Jayson Taniguchi & Erin Taniguchi both
of Honolulu, O’ahu; three brothers: Thomas (Evelyn) Arakaki of Honolulu, O’ahu,
Stanley (Loretta) Arakaki of Honolulu, O’ahu, David (Helen) Arakaki of
Torrance, Calif.; sister: Betsy (Minoru) Sakai of Los Angeles, Calif.; numerous
nieces and nephews.
Services were private. Arrangements were handled by
Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Emily Lihue Hoopale Dulay
of Kapa’a died Sept. 13, 2000, at Mahelona Hospital at the age of 88.
A
cook for Waimanu Nursing Home, she was born May 25, 1912,. in Honolulu
HI.
She is survived by one sister: Aileen (Harry) Ho of California; one
son: Benjamin K. Waiolama, Sr. of O’ahu; four daughters: Aileen N. Perez,
Margaret K. Killi, Emily G. (Vai) Sili, all of O’ahu; and Genavie Jean-Pierre;
27 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 29
great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 29, at
the Kaumakapili Church on O’ahu; services to be celebrated at noon. The family
requests aloha attire and that flowers be omitted.
