2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.
A laborer for the
landscaping industry, he was born May 27, 1910, in the Philippines.
He is
survived by three sons: Feniano (Carmen) Negrillo of Honolulu; Cipriano
(Shirley) Negrillo and Ramon (Cora) Negrillo, both of Lihu’e; seven daughters:
Julita (Rogelio) Calima, Maxima (Juanito) Gonzales, Teresa (Percival) Bailey,
Patricia (Amado) Monis, Vicky (Cecilio) Redaus, Maria (Mirando) Zabala, and
Imelda (Noli) Quiban, all of Lihu’e; 18 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; two brothers in the Philppines; one sister-in-law: Bibiana
Aribon of Lihu’e; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is
scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Kapaia from 8:30 a.m. with services to be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Paul.
Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery.
Casual
attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Joseph Texeira, Jr.
Joseph “Sonny” Texeira Jr., of
Puhi, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 10, 2000, at the age of
72.
Born in Puhi, Kauai on Nov. 9, 1927, he was a Staff Sergeant with the
U.S. Army, with service in Germany, U. S. Army Golden Glove Boxer, one of the
first locomotive operators for Grove Farm Co., Owner Operator of Sonny Taxi
Service, Employee of the Year at Rampy’s Restaurant, security guard at Kukui
Grove and retired heavy equipment operator with Grove Farm.
He is survived
by his wife of 51 years, Millie J. Texeira of Puhi, Kauai; two sons: Larry
(Virginia) Texeira of Hanamaulu, Kauai and Timmy (Diane) Texeira of Lihue,
Kauai; two daughters: Valerie (Stan) Sekimoto of Lihue, Kauai, and Raynette
Texeira of Puhi, Kauai; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two
brothers: David (Dorothy) Texeira and Billy (Ida) Texeira, both of Puhi, Kauai;
four sisters: Gussy Souza of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Beatrice Lang of Lihue, Kauai,
Frances Getler of California, and Dorothy (Albert) Moura of Kalaheo, Kauai;
hanai daughters: Teresa & Rayna Pia of Puhi, Kauai, numerous uncles, aunts,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held Wednesday at Immaculate
Conception Church, followed by burial at the church cemetery. Arrangements were
handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
W. Stephen Bogardus
The
Bogardus family is planning a Memorial Celebration of the life of W. Stephen
Bogardus Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Church at
the corner of Umi and Hardy Streets.
The Rev. Malcolm Miner assisted by the
Rev. Mrs. Linda Sutherland will officiate at the service. A reception with Mr.
Bogardus’ sister, Jane Hughes, will follow in the parish hall. Pupus and light
refreshments will be served. Scattering of ashes will be private. Aloha attire
is suggested.

Kaleiohi Jr., II, of Anahola, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept.
11, 2000, at the age of 72.
Born in Kapa’a, Kauai on Sept. 12, 1927,
“Moosy Pop’s” was a retired Security Guard with Hawaii Protective Association,
and veteran of United States Army Air Corps.
He is survived by: his wife:

at the age of 35.
