Rachael Navor Rachael Lahela Navor of Anahola, Kaua’i, died Sept. 20,
2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 66.
A homemaker, she was
born Sept. 2, 1933, in Lahaina, Maui.
She is survived by her husband:
Agapito “Pete” Navor of Anahola; one daughter: Ulu (Colin) Brown of Anahola;
two half-daughters: Cecila Navalta and Adalina Negrillo; two sons: Agapito
(Gail) Navor and Ricardo (Adele) Navor; one sister: Sweetheart (Henry) Lau of
O’ahu; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30, at
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. where services will be celebrated
at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and that
flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Mildred Griswold
Mildred Joan Griswold of Koloa died
Sept. 21, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
A teller for
the banking industry, she was born June 28, 1922, in Arkansas.
She is
survived by one son: Ronald (Cynthia) Terry of Kalaheo; one sister: Earline
Pippin of New Mexico; one brother: Byron (Dorothy) Silverthorn of Texas; two
grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will
be held at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Stephen D. Martin
Stephen D. Martin of Cannon Beach,
Oregon and Kaua’i; died recently at the age of 57.
Born June 12, 1943, in
The Dalles, Oregon; he purchased the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach and
acquired several more properties in subsequent years. He also built Cousins’
Restaurant in The Dalles and Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach.
He was also
involved in the organization of Columbia River Bank in The Dalles, Ore., served
as a member of the Board of Directors and was elected Chairman of the Board in
1995. He was also Chairman of the Board of Cannon Beach Lumber and a member of
the Academy Board for the Small Business Advisory. In 1988, he was honored as
the Oregon Small Business Person of the Year.
In recent years, he has spent
his time at his residences in both Cannon Beach and Kaua’i.
He supported
many charitable organizations and reached out to many individuals who were in
need, including employees, family members and others he did not even
know.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Martin, his daughter Stephanie
Snyder, stepchildren Kim and Tyson Betzer, three grandchildren; brother Don
Martin, sister, Shirley Wagenblast and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial
contributions may be sent to the Lower Columbia Hospice, Feed the Children
Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and the Mario Marshall House in Cannon
Beach.
Private services will be held in Po’ipu at a later date.
