A homemaker, she was born Oct. 25, 1939, on
O’ahu.
She is survived by her husband: Nicholas Ortiz of Koloa; two
daughters: Mary Luedke of Hilo, Hawaii and Margaret (Nelson) Garcia of ‘Oma’o;
two sons: Alex Bode of Maui and Paul Ortiz of Koloa; one twin sister: Margie
(Ralph) Rego of O’ahu and one stepsister: Yvonne Fernandez; seven
grandchildren; nine step-brothers and one step-sister.
Visitation is
scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 8 a.m.
with services to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Koloa Public
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Augustine Soliven
Augustine Ugalde Soliven
of Kihei, Maui, died Nov. 15, 2000, at Hale Makua, Wailuku, Maui, at the age of
73.
A retired driller powder man and sand blaster with Grove Farm Inc., he
was born April 20, 1927, in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He also served
in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.
He is survived by one son:
Randy Soliven of Kaua’i; two grandchildren; and one brother: Andrew Soliven of
Kihei, Maui.
Services will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church on Maui
on Friday, Nov. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. Theresa’s
Catholic Church on Maui on Saturday, Nov. 25, with viewing from 8 to 10 a.m.
and service at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Maui Veteran’s
Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Ballard Family Mortuary.
