WAIMEA — The Waimea junior varsity team ran past Kapa’a Tuesday night, 52-34.
The Menehunes improved their record to 5-0 and showed again that they will be tough to beat this season.
Kapa’a dropped to 0-5, but did manage to play a better game, in spurts.
The teams were tied 8-8 after the first quarter. But Waimea applied its vaunted press in the second quarter to pull ahead 24-13 at halftime.
The teams played a relatively even second half, but after the second quarter, the Warriors were never truly in the game.
Kapa’a hosts Kaua’i Friday at 5:30 p.m.
