Kauai foods will be the centerpiece at the Kauai Festival set for the Ward Warehouse in Honolulu Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. .
Many of these items are Kauai-only products including Makaweli Poi and kulolo from Kapaa Poi Factory, fresh asparagus from Haupu Growers in Koloa, Kauai corn from Syngenta on the Westside, Namahana Catering’s smoked meat from Waimea, and Kauai shrimp, which will be featured at a cooking demonstration at 2:30 p.m.
Other items include Garden Isle Honey, a company that’s considered the largest producer of honey in the state, and powered kava from Kava Kauai.
Halau Hula O Leilani of Kauai will travel to Oahu for the food show and be joined by Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Maile of Oahu.
