Top county employees honored at banquet
Kaua’i County saluted some of its top employees during a recent awards banquet.
Honored as Outstanding Employees of 2000 were:
- Evelyn Branco and detective Alejandre Quibilan of the Police Department.
- Leon Gonsalves Sr. of the prosecuting attorney’s office.
- Sharon Agnew of the mayor’s office.
- Dennis Alkire and Lani Furusho of the Office of Community Assistance.
- Sammie Wunschel, Eddie Andres, James Mundon and Alex Pascual of the Public Works Department.
- Gregg Fujikawa of the Department of Water.
- And Capt. Hollis Peter and water safety officer Kalani Vierra of the Fire Department.
Years-of-service awards were presented to employees who’ve worked 15, 20, 25 and 30 years for the county, and those who retired last year.
The banquet was staged April 19 at the Terrace restaurant at Kaua’i Lagoons.
