Shell Vacations Club recently announced the hiring of Matt Ozelie as general sales manager for the company’s Kaua’i Coast Resort at the Beachboy in Waipouli.
In his new position, Ozelie provides sales and marketing leadership for a sales team of around 35 employees.
He is directing sales of the company’s point-based Shell Vacations Club on the island.
A three-year veteran Shell Vacations employee, Ozelie previously was sales manager at the Kaua’i Coast Resort at the Beachboy, and was a sales associate at Shell’s Starr Pass resort in Tucson, Ariz., and assistant sales manager at the Cannery Preview Center in San Francisco, where he sold Shell’s four San Francisco resorts,
Originally from Melbourne, Fla., Ozelie has nearly a decade of sales experience, serving in the vacation ownership arena since 1993 in Puerto Villarta, Mexico.
“Matt Ozelie’s proven sales leadership and loyalty will be a major asset as we continue to sell our popular Shell Vacations Club in the Hawaiian islands,” said Robert Foster, Shell’s new regional director for Hawai’i.
Operated as a hotel since it was initially built in the 1960s, the Kaua’i Coast Resort at the Beachboy was purchased by Shell Vacations last year, and recently completed a $10 million refurbishment of the property.
Formerly consisting of 233 hotel rooms, the property now has 108 vacation ownership units, including 69 one-bedroom and 33 two-bedroom units, as well as six hotel rooms.
The property employs about 60 hospitality professionals.
