Four suspects are being investigated for assault and kidnapping of a male off Kuamo’o Road in Wailua Friday morning.
The four male suspects, described by police as non-residents, were not identified and remain in custody at the Kaua’i Community Correctional Center in Wailua.
The victim, also identified by police as a non-resident, was transported to Wilcox Hospital for treatment Friday. Hospital officials were not available to comment on his condition or whether he was still undergoing treatment.
No weapon was used in the incident, according to Kaua’i Police Sgt. Scott Yagihara. According to investigators, an anonymous caller reported to police at about 10:30 a.m. that an assault was occurring in an area known as the “Bell Stones” across from Opaeka’a Falls.
Officers arrived at the scene and saw four men leaving the area in a vehicle and stopped it, later finding a man restrained inside.
The motive for the alleged assault was not released. At least one police investigator was at the scene of the crime Saturday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kaua’i Police Detective Sam Sheldon at 241-6702 or Detective Marvin Rivera at 241-6745.
