Kapa’a Peewee team still seeking players
The Kapa’a Steelers Peewee Football team is still looking for players.
Nine, 10 and 11 year olds are eligible if they weigh between 70 and 110 pounds, while 12 year olds need to weigh between 70 and 90 pounds.
No experience is needed.
For the month of August, practice is every day at 3:50 at the Kapa’a Ballpark. After that, practice will be three times per week. The season opens Aug. 26.

Cheerleading camp
The University of Hawai’i cheerleaders will be offering the 2001 Youth Camp for girls ages 6-13, August 25-26 at the University of Hawai’i athletic complex.
Cheers, chants, dances and stunts will be taught by the nationally-ranked UH cheerleaders. Camp days are Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
The fee is $50 per participant and the deadline for registration is Monday, Aug. 20.

Lihu’e Pop Warner general meeting
Lihu’e Pop Warner will hold a general membership meeting on Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m. at HGEA Hall at 3213 Akahi St. in Lihu’e. All members are urged to attend, as 2001 season fund-raising will be discussed along with the county fair.
