Melvin H. “Junior” Kua, Sr., of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died at Kaua’i Veterans Memorial Hospital on Sept. 27, 2001, at the age of 70.
Born in Kekaha, Kaua’i on April 25, 1931, he was a retired ; two sons: Melvin “Bones” (Stanette) Kua of Kekaha, Kaua’i and Kenway (Bonnie) Kua of Kaneohe, Oahu; three daughters: Melva “Uilani” (Erwin) Wright of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Luana “Kuini” Kua of Honolulu, Oahu, and Winona “Pua” (Leonard) Nihipali of Hauuala; 12 grandchildren; three sisters: Edwina “Pua” (Tom) Takahashi of Kekaha, Kaua’i; Eileen “Ulu” (Ed) Edwards of Kekaha, Kaua’i; Charlene “Aloha” (Tauveve) Fanene of San Leandro, CA.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kekaha Ward; service officiated by Bishop Erwin Wright will begin at 4 p.m. Followed by burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Elenora “Lovey” Doo
Elenora “Lovey” Doo of Kailua, died on Sept. 25, 2001 at the age of 72.
She was born in Kaua’i. She enjoyed volunteering her services to help the elderly.
She is survived by her husband: Arthur “Sonny” Doo, three sons: Kaui Doo, Gordon Doo, and Francis Doo; four daughters: Sandra “Titi” Johnson, Lavaina Huihui, Cindy Vasquez, and Shirlene Oyadomari; two brothers: Bruce and Richard Jackson; one sister: Audrey Helenihi, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 9 a.m. at Ordensteins Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Service at 11:15 a.m. Burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Hawai’i State Veterans Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested.
