Mike Aldax has been named sports editor of The Garden Island.
Aldax moved to Hawai’i one month ago from New York City, where he was a staff reporter for the Queens Courier, a weekly newspape, covering the Staten Island Yankees minor league baseball team, the New York Penn Baseball League and minor league soccer.
He also spent two years with the Norwood News, a bi-weekly newspaper, where he covered high school and college sports.
Aldax said he looks forward to working on long-term relationships with people in Kaua’i’s athletic communityi.
Interested in all facets of competition, he urges all on the island who have good story ideas to contact him.
At The Garden Island, he replaces Jason Gallic, who has accepted a position with a newspaper in Fargo, N.D.
