Frank Ignacio
Frank Phillip Ignacio of Kekaha, died Sept. 14, 2001, at Kaua’i Veterans Memorial Hospital, at the age of 83.
A supervisor for Kekaha Sugar, he was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Makaweli, Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife: Mercy Costa Ignacio of Kekaha; one daughter: Jolene (John) Gentry of Hawai’i; three sons: Xavier (fiancee Janice) Ignacio of Kekaha, Vance (companion Glory) Ignacio of Kekaha and Landis (Lisa) Ignacio; two brothers: Mack (Sophie) Pavao of California and Joe Pavao of Kalaheo; one sister: Beatrice Medeiros of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Chruch Cemetery in Koloa.

Estella Mae Gent of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died Sept. 15, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 78.
A Social worker for the State of California, she was born Oct. 4, 1922, in California.
She is survived by her friend: Phyllis Hamilton of Lihu’e; Cousin: Joan Matthew of California; one grandson: Zackery Thoeny and one granddaughter: Andrea Thoeny.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Lihu’e Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
Sebastian Torres, Jr.
Sebastian “Saba Kachi Kachi King” Torres, Jr. of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died Sept. 11, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 72.
A supervisor for the sugar industry with McBryde Sugar, he was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Lawai, Kaua’i.
He is survived by two brothers: Daldo Torres of Numila and Johnny (Frances) Torres of Lawai; two sisters: Emily (Jody) Dela Torre of Kekaha and Marie (Ernest) Coyaso of Omao; Cory & Elise Silver and daughter Coryssa; cousin: Arthur (Beatrice) Camacho, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo from 8:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Catholic Church cemetery in Kalaheo. Services to be celebrated by Father Keahi.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
