The 50th crossing of the annual 41-mile Bank of Hawaii Hinano Molokai Hoe outrigger canoe race will take place this coming Sunday, Oct. 7, between the Hawaiian Islands of Molokai and Oahu.
The Bank of Hawaii Hinano Molokai Hoe is the premiere men’s outrigger canoe championship in the world. A record field in excess of 100 crews (close to 1,000 paddlers) from Hawaii, the U.S. mainland and overseas will make the crossing.
The 7:30 a.m. start will be at Hale O Lono Harbor, Molokai. It will then continue across the Kaiwi Channel to a finish at Duke Kahanamoku Beach in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.
