The Waimea Menehunes topped the Kaua’i Red Raiders 6-3 in the first game of the tourney.
The Menehunes picked up the runs on five hits, three walks, four HBP’s, on six Raider errors; Waimea left eight runners stranded. Kaua’i notched five hits, one walk, two HBP’s on one Menehune error; the Raiders left four runners on the bags.
Senior Clarence Aki went the distance in picking up the win.
In the second game, the Kapa’a Warriors fell to the Pahoa Daggers, 8-7.
The Warriors garnered seven runs on seven hits, with six walks, and one HBP on two Dagger errors. They left five runners on.
Pahoa scored eight runs on five timely hits and added five walks while stranding two.
St. Joseph swamped Pahoa 16-1 in the third game.
The Cardinals rode the steady arms of starter Tyson Usui (4 innings, 1 hit) and Davin Feary in limiting the Daggers to a single run on two hits, three walks, one HBP and two Cardinal errors. Pahoa left five runners on the base paths.
