FIRST TIME! Girl Scouts from Troop 817 get the graveside American flags ready for the Memorial Day services on Sunday at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. This is the first year the Girl Scouts turned out to work alongside the Boy Scouts in helping the Kaua’i Veterans Council host the annual service. The troop, under the direction of Scout leader Janice Gusman, spent their Saturday working with the Boy Scouts to wash down the gravestones before returning on Sunday to help place the leis, American flag, and the American Legion Auxiliary red poppy before the service started.
