James S. Andrasick, formerly president and chief operating officer of C. Brewer and Company, has been promoted to executive vice president of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALEX).
Andrasick will retain his current responsibilities as chief financial officer and treasurer at A&B, which include oversight of all financial matters of A&B and its subsidiaries, as well as the company’s corporate development activities.
He continues to report to Allen Doane, A&B president and chief executive officer, who made the announcement.
“This promotion recognizes Jim’s growing leadership responsibilities and the contributions he has made to A&B’s progress since he joined us in a senior executive position two years ago,” said Doane.
“It also indicates the increasingly important role he has assumed at A&B,” Doane continued. “A&B was fortunate to gain, in Jim, a key executive with experience, skills and vision.”
Andrasick joined A&B in June 2000 as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. He joined C. Brewer in 1978, and moved at that company into positions of increasing responsibility, serving nine years as chief financial officer before being named president.
Andrasick, 58, was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and has lived in Hawai’i for the past 24 years. He holds a master’s degree in management science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
He is a national trustee of the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation, and a director and past chairman of the board of the American Red Cross in Hawai’i. Andrasick is or has been involved on the boards of various other humanitarian organizations in the state.
A&B owns around 22,000 acres on Kaua’i, including Kauai Coffee Company, and also operates Kauai Commercial Company, a trucking company with offices in Puhi.
