Kaua’i Police Department detectives have no suspects in the continuing murder investigation of Walter “Fig” Mitchell II, who was found dead in his Kapa’a home the afternoon of June 10.
In a CrimeStoppers television ad that has appeared on Channel 6, the Kaua’i Police Department say they are looking for an African-American male, shirtless at the time, driving a dark-colored blue or green sedan, seen fronting Mitchell’s apartment at 4-422 Kuhio Hwy. in Kapa’a.
Police say they haven’t found a murder weapon, but according to autopsy results, Mitchell died from blunt force trauma to his head.
It is known that Mitchell was found somewhere in his apartment, though police “can’t say it was actually the place that he died,” said lead detective Kaleo Perez.
The KPD is asking the public’s assistance by calling in tips to CrimeStoppers at 241-6787 or Detective Perez at 241-6747.
