A client of the Association for Retarded Citizens remains missing today, after last being seen around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Poipu Beach Park.
John Harrington, 55, went for a walk after eating lunch at the park with his caretaker, and never returned.
Harrington, who is developmentally disabled, is five feet, 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, medium build, fair complexion, with short, gray hair.
He was last seen wearing faded blue jean shorts, a faded green T-shirt, a dark blue baseball cap with “Harrington’s Paradise Properties” printed on it, and white tennis shoes.
Unconfirmed sightings Wednesday put him at the Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa pool around 5 p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. at the CJM Country Stables, both Wednesday.
Organized search parties combed the South Shore yesterday, with no luck in finding Harrington.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Harrington should call the Kauai Police Department, 241-1711.
