Edward Martin, Sr.
Edward Martin, Sr. of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Jan. 20, 2003, at the age of 83.
Born in Honolulu on July 12, 1919, he was a plumber. He is survived by his wife: Laura Martin of Kapa’a; three sons: Edward Martin, Jr. of Kapa’a, Roy Martin, Alan Martin; one daughter: Janet Woo; three sisters: Margie Franca, Rose Calistro, Lorraine Peralta; one brother: Stanley Martin, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the family resident 4022 G Olohena Road, in Kapaa at 6 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Jack Leoiki
Jack “Maha” Kahanukaumaha Leoiki of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, on Jan. 23, 3003, at the age of 87.
Born in Waimea, Kaua’i, on July 13, 1915, he was a fireman.
He is preceded in death by his daughter: Eileen Ululani Malama. He is survived by four daughters: Roseline (“Lokalia”) Tremaine, Pinky (Paddy Boy) Malama, Sharon “Maha” Leoiki, Lolly Malama; three sons: Rosedale Jack “Bruddah” Leoiki, Robert “Boobie” Leoiki, Rodney “Charman” Leoiki; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Sunday, Feb. 2, at Waimea River Mouth at 1 p.m. for scattering of remains. Casual attire is suggested.

Ruby Hansen
Ruby Florence Hansen of St. George, Utah, died at her daughter’s home in Kapa’a, Kaua’i, on Jan. 28, 2003, at the age of 77.
Born in Tooele, Utah, on Aug. 3, 1925, she was a retired secretary for the Kaua’i Chamber of Commerce.
Preceded in death by her husband, Garth Hansen in 2002, she is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Ed) Sancious of Wailua Homesteads, Laurie (Ross) Aguano of Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepsons, Jim (Carol) Hansen of Hamilton, Montana, Randy (Margo) Hansen of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister Donna (Guy) Crane of San Francisco, Calif.; brothers Ray (LaNore) Adamson of Littlefield, Co., Jack (Marjorie) Adamson of St. George, Utah.
A private memorial service is being held. Special thanks to Kauai Hospice and Dr. Sutherland.

Horace Less
Horace Less of Kilauea died at home on Jan. 8, 2003, at the age of 82.
Born on Dec. 11, 1920, in Fromberg, Germany, he came to Rochester, NY in 1938 where he was married and had two children. He was in the grocery business. In 1970 he moved to Florida and to Kaua’i in 2001.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara “Magenta” Billet of Kilauea and his son Alan Less of the Republic of Panama.
A memorial blessing was held at Kalihiwai Bay.
