Kapa’a High School cheerleader Kristy Kubota and Kaua’i High School cheerleader Holly Shimazu prepare to board the British Airways flight for the 10-hour trip to London where they participated in the London New Year’s Day parade.
The pair, donning the special jackets of the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) earned the right to the trip after competing at the UCA camp held in July. The pair brought over a supply of Kaua’i Loves You buttons, stickers, and other Kaua’i goodies as they worked their way through nine days in London.
Mr. & Mrs. Harry Otsuka and Cheryl Kubota were the pair’s chaperones.
