The Kaua’i High School 200-yard medley relay team of Jarred Perry, Keenan Anaya, Jason Ebesu and Nick Murray will attempt to lift the Red Raiders boys team to a win at the KIF championships on Saturday at the Kaua’i pool.
In addition to the relay team, several individuals could have a huge impact on the overall team standings by the close of Saturday’s championships.
Among those for the Kaua’i boys are Anaya in the 200-free and 100-butterfly, Perry in the 500-free and 100-backstroke and Ebesu in the 100-breastroke. In addition to the Kaua’i boys, Waimea and Kapa’a also have some solid swimmers that could play a key role on Saturday for their respective teams.
Those individuals are Waimea’s Bo Domingcil (50-free, 100-free) and Kapa’a’s Kelii Akaha-Kaaihue (50-free).
For the girls, Waimea’s Katelyn Umetsu (200 individual, 100-backstroke) and the Kapa’a 200-free relay team of Zuri Pommerenk, Bristol King, Sarah Haupt and Amy Lloyd should be counted on to help their clubs. For the Kaua’i girls team, Alli Jackson (100-free) is one to watch on Saturday.
The KIF championships begin at 10 a.m.
