Rice sinks hole-in-one
Kauai resident Marty Rice hit a hole-in-one at the Wailua Golf Course on Tuesday.
Rice sank his first hole-in-one on the 14th hole from 168 yards using a Calloway 7-wood.
He has been playing golf for 35 years.
Minihunes best Comets
KALAHEO Natalie Mata scored 17 points to pace the Waimea Minihunes 33-20 girls 12 and under community basketball victory at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on Tuesday.
Kierra Barba led the Comets with seven points.
In other action, Lorraine Lagoc poured in 11 points to pace the Kaumakani Sonics 26-24 win over the Na Wahine.
Ashlyn Ubongen totaled six points for Na Wahine.
In girls 14 and under play, the Westside Hornets downed Wailua 30-27.
Chasen Sherman scored 10 points for the Hornets while Kennilyn Nakamura totaled nine for Wailua.
Club to start camp
The Kauai Coconut Beach Resort Tennis Club will be having its “Summer Jr. Tennis and Swim Camp.”
There are three sessions available. The first session begins on June 9 through July 7. The second session begins on July 7 and runs until July 25 and the third session starts August 4 and runs until August 22.
Camp days will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The hours for the camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested can call 822-6670.
Koloa league to hold registration
The Koloa Pop Warner league is holding their cheerleading and tackle football registrations today from 4:30-6 p.m. for the month of May and June.
