MAUI — Clayton Sasil, Lee Yoshino, Tiana Esaki and Kapili Akana of the Kenn Firestone Universal Karate of Kauai club took home first place in the Kata class at the Maui Tournament held on Saturday and Sunday.
Glen Catiggay, Alison Taylor and Shelly Yokote took second place while Savannah Vea, Ericka Catiggay and Ian Ross were third.
Christy Mayfield, Elson Tanimoto and John Ogle earned fourth place in the Kata division.
In the sparring class, Sasil, Glen Catiggay, Yoshino, Esaki, Akana and Ogle were first.
Vea, Ross and Reese Firestone were second while Mayfield, Taylor and Tanimoto earned third place.
Erika Catiggay was fourth and Ross was third in the weapons class.
