KALAHEO — Brytney Yadao-Lanning scored eight points to help the Westside Hornets best the Kaumakani SuperSonics 19-17 on Tuesday in girls 12 and under community basketball play.
The Sonics were led by Lorraine Lagoc-Agrade, who totaled six points for the Sonics.
In boys 12 and under action, the Hornets beat the Lihue Maniacs 41-25 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Clareson Torres scored 11 points for the Hornets while Jordan Kahawai poured in seven for the Maniacs.
In girls 14 and under action, the Waimea Minihunes defeated Wailua 28-13 with Natalie Mata scoring 10 for the Minihunes and Kennilyn Nakamura adding nin for Wailua.
Association to hold registration
The Hanapepe Pop Warner Association will be holding registration for all interested participants in tackle football and cheerleading for the upcoming 2003 season.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, until the end of June. Registration will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. all interested should go to the HPWA locker room to pick up applications.

The HPWA will be having a important informational parents meeting for the 2003 season on June 26, 7 p.m. at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center.
Duo take first place
Jerry Shene and Lorna Contrades of the Anahola Horseshoe Club took the top spot in Division I of the 9th annual NHPA Card Holders Horseshoe Pitching doubles tournament held this past weekend. The duo finished 7-0 at the event.
Hanalei native’s Will Brewer and Ed Constantine took fourth place in Division II.
A total of 46 pitchers took part in the event.
