The streets of Lihue were extra quiet for a Monday, with most workers off for the three-day Memorial Day weekend.
The fine weather was perfect for motorcyclists cruising Kauai’s roads. The fishing was fine, too, for shorecasters and those offshore in boats.
Resort shopping centers, grocery stores and restaurants did good business over the weekend, which comes just days before high school graduations and the end of the school year for many students.
The fine weather, with light tradewinds, is expected to continue through the week, with the trades picking up slightly.
