Led by Laosamoa Misa-Uli, who scored a game-high 12 points, the Governors (11-4) used their physical superiority to race out to a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Farrington extended the advantage to 20-0 before Ashley Mier sank a free throw for Waimea with 6:42 left before halftime.
The Menehune scored their only first-half field goal when Jessica Jacinto hit a layup with 4:34 left in the first half. Waimea (9-4) trailed 32-5 at halftime.
Meleane Mateaki’s 10 rebounds led Farrington to a 37-23 margin on the boards.
The Governors substituted freely in the second half and were never threatened on their way to a quarterfinal matchup with Mau’i Interscholastic League champion Baldwin.
The Menehune, which was led in scoring by Chantelle Briones’ five points, moves on to the consolation bracket against the loser of the Kealakehe-McKinley contest today.
Waimea outscored Farrington 12-6 in the fourth quarter.
The Menehune’s leading scorer Ashlee Vea was held without a point.
Jessica and Joanna Jacinto combined for eight points and six rebounds while Mallorie Hepa scored three for the Menehune which shot 19 percent from the floor.
