John Smythe Jr.
John K. Smythe Jr., of Kapaa, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2003, at the age of 69.
Born in Molokai on Aug. 8, 1933, he was Administrator for correctional center.
Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Smythe, he is survived by his wife, Annie Smythe of Kapaa; daughter, Clorinda (Paul) Brede of Anahola; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kalino and Kaleo, 1 great-grandchild, Kaimana.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 20, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. again on Saturday, June 21, at Borthwick Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Victor Polintang
Victor Polintang of Hanamaulu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 8, 2003, at the age of 37.
Born in the Philippines on July 28, 1965 he was a clerk at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his fianc, Rosiel Beltran; son, Mark; father, Pedro Polintang; nephew, Sheldon Polintang; aunty, Carolina Polintang; uncle, Banifacio (Magdalena) Polintang, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 19, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday, June 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Keahi. Casual attire is suggested.

Charlotte Tremaine
Charlotte Eloise Tremaine of Honolulu, died at Queen’s Medical Center on June 5, 2003, at the age of 78. Born in Pennsylvania on July 8, 1925.
She is survived by son, Larry Gibbons of Kapaa; sister, Elizabeth Beauchamp, 2 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson.
Private services were held. Arrangements by Borthwick Mortuary.
Julio Doctor
Julio Hilario Doctor of Hayward, CA., formerly of Koloa, died on May 31, 2003, at the age of 62.
Born on March 29, 1941 in the Philippines, he immigrated to Hawaii at the age of 5 with his family. A graduate of Kauai High School, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. He also studied for two years at Silliman University in the Philippines. Self employed in various businesses, he was a building contractor in California for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Gonzalez Doctor; children, Blanche Doctor Slagel, Stephanie Doctor Meza, Mario Doctor, Sofia Doctor Uribe, Mara Doctor; stepchildren Sandra Gonzalez and Rigo Zayaz; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Glorita Doctor McIntyre (WA), Sofia Doctor (HI), Clarita Doctor Kaapuni (CA), and Norma Doctor Sparks (CA, HI); aunts and uncles Anastacia Doctor, Petronila and Crisanto Agustin, Sr., Juliana and Federico Doctor, Segundina and Silvestre Dela Cruz; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Bienvenido and Sofia Hilario Doctor of Koloa.
Funeral services were held on June 5 in Hayward. Childhood best friend, Raphael Morris, gave the eulogy.
