Victor Polintang of Hanamaulu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 8, 2003, at the age of 37.
Born in the Philippines on July 28, 1965 he was a clerk at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his fianc, Rosiel Beltran; son, Mark; father, Pedro Polintang; nephew, Sheldon Polintang; aunties, Carolina Polintang, Pilar Lucas; uncle, Bonifacio (Magdalena) Polintang, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 19, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday, June 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Keahi. Casual attire is suggested.

John Smythe
John K. Smythe Jr., of Kapaa, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2003, at the age of 69.
Born in Molokai on Aug. 8, 1933, he was Administrator for correctional center.
Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Smythe, he is survived by his wife, Annie Smythe of Kapaa; daughter, Clorinda (Paul) Brede of Anahola; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kalino and Kaleo, 1 great-grandchild, Kaimana.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 20, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. again on Saturday, June 21, at Borthwick Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Pedro Salud
Pedro O. Salud of Hanamaulu, died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on June 9, 2003 at the age of 80.
Born in Pasuquin, Philippines on June 3, 1923, he was a Mechanic with Lihue Plantation Co.
He is survived by wife, Maria A.; sons, Ben Salud and Rudy (Shandra) Salud both of Hanamaulu; grand-daughters, Chelsea and Gabrielle; brother, Mariano Salud of P.I.; sisters, Maria O. Salud of P.I. and Ramona (Jose) Villa of Hanamaulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; Visitation also at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 11:30 a.m. Followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Joan Maeda
Joan Mikiko Maeda of Lihue died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 13, 2003, at the age of 47.
Born in Honolulu, Oahu on July 25, 1955, she was a real estate agent with Kauai Realty.
She is survived by husband, Darryl K. Maeda of Lihue; son, Derek K. Maeda of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Jodi T. Maeda of Tacoma, Wash.; mother-in-law, Bessie T. Maeda of Lihue; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Lihue Christian Church; service officiated by Rev. James Koyama and Rev. David Hirano, will begin at 4:30 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
