Daniel Hironaka
Daniel Tsukasa Hironaka of Wailua Homesteads, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Aug. 14, 2003 at the age of 72.
Born in Moloa‘a, on Nov. 3, 1930, he was a self-employed Farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Doris K. (Hamura) Hironaka; son, Myles (Irene) Hironaka of Lihu‘e; daughter, Coleen Hironaka of Honolulu, O‘ahu; four brothers, Hajime (Yaeko) Hironaka of Las Vegas, NV., Hiromu (Toshiko) Hironaka of Cerritos, CA., Atsushi Hironaka of Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i and Melvin (Florence) Hironaka of Camarrillo, CA.; sister, Fusako (Hiroshi) Kubota of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at the Kapaa United Church of Christ, service at 4:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Fusao Tanabe
Fusao Tanabe of Lawa‘i, died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on Aug. 16, 2003 at the age 97.
Born in Wahiawa, on Oct. 26, 1905, he was a Secretary with Waimea High School.
He is survived by three daughters, Jane (Tamotsu) Yoshimori of Koloa, Barbara (Francis) Inafuku of Kileen, Texas, Jessie (Frank) Ginoza of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, June Masaki of Pearl City; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Jose Raposas
Jose Raposas of ‘Oma‘o, died at Straub Medical Clinic on Aug. 16, 2003 at the age of 62.
Born in the Philippines on Dec. 23, 1940, he was an estimator for Hale Kauai. He worked for Hale Kauai for 28 years and retired in 2001.
He is survived by his parents: Cirilo and Rosalina Raposas; wife, Yon U Raposas; son, Robert (Jeanne Cadawas) Raposas; two daughters, Teressa (Derwin Nohara) Iida, Shelley (Kamaka) Contrades, three brothers, Jerry Raposas, Lodring (Vivian) Raposas, Edwin (Aurora) Raposas, four sisters, Merlita (Alan) Honma of Alaska; Helen (David) Masuda, Josie Raposas, Adeline (Bruce) Walters of Alaska, 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary. Also following services there will be visitation with the family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Aloha attire is suggested.

Marcelino Yago
Marcelino Yago of Puhi, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 14, 2003 at the age of 42. He was born in the Philippines on January 31, 1961.
He is survived by his parents, Estanislao (Trinidad) Yago of Puhi; sister, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Yago-Nunes of Lihu‘e; niece, Tiana Nunes; two nephews, Tyton and K’len Nunes, numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 28, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday, Aug. 29, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
