Marylou Sherman
Marylou Sherman of Kilauea, died Aug. 10, 2003, at her residence in Kilauea, at the age of 57.
A secretary, she was born June 18, 1946, in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her husband: Richard Sherman of Kilauea; three daughters: Lauren Sherman of Kilauea, Rebecca Sherman of Indiana, and Lesley Sherman of Pennsylvania; one son: Stephen Sherman of Honolulu and one sister: Ann Stemmy of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service has been scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 17, at Hanalei Cemetery at 2 p.m.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and suggests casual or aloha attire. Donations may be made to Kauai Hospice, P.O. Box 3286, Lihue HI 96766. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Gladys Borrero
Gladys Fujie Borrero of Kalaheo, died at her residence on August 12, 2003 at the age of 72.
Born in Waipouli, Kaua‘i on April 3, 1931 she retired from the State of Hawai‘i.
She is survived by two sons, Wallace Wakalina and Richard K. Borrero; daughter, Phyllis “Laua‘e” Borrero; brother, George Fujimoto; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; service officiated by Father Napoleon Andres will begin at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Alice Luther
Alice Mary Remle Luther died at Long Term Care Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 1, 2003 at the age of 90.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 17, 1913 to John and Cora Remle, she was the oldest of 5 daughters.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Ainsley) Kelekoma of Anahola and Ardeth (David) Wilson of Anderson, Indiana; five grandsons, Kalen (Noelle) Kelekoma and John (Sharon) Kelekoma of Anahola, David Paul (Barbara) Wilson of New York, John (Gwen) Wilson and Steve (Teresia) Wilson of Indiana; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Mynhier and Dorothy Strong of Ohio, one brother-in-law, William Barton of Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 16 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Annette Michaud
Annette Faith Michaud of Caribou, Maine, died July 29, 2003, at the age of 28.
Born in Lihu‘e, Kauai on Feb. 10, 1975, she is survived by her parents, Joseph (Amy) Michaud of Caribou, Maine and Beatrice Sakamoto of Lihu‘e; hanai mom, Rose (Frank) Domenden of Kealia; paternal grandparent, Pauline Michaud of Maine; two daughters, Gabriella Beatrice Rivera-Michaud and Elizabeth Carolina Rivera-Michaud; two brothers: David (Rae) Michaud of Lihu‘e, Michael (Yuri) Michaud of Maine and Justin Michaud of ‘Ele‘ele; four sisters, Vanessa (John) Connelly of Maine, Elinor Michaud of Maine, Christine Michaud of Honolulu and Joscelynn Michaud of ‘Ele‘ele; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Crowned Miss Hawaii-World in 1994, she was a top ten finalist for the International (Miss World) Pageant. She worked with Ho‘ike Community Television, The Garden Island newspaper and Garage Door Security.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Kalapaki Beach at 10 a.m. Reverend Wayne Vidinha will officiate.
Darrick A. K. Callahan
Darrick A. K. Callahan of Kalaheo, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 8, 2003, at the age of 47.
Preceded in death by his father, David W. J. Callahan, he was born on O‘ahu on September 23, 1955. He was a construction worker.
He is survived by Helen K. Callahan of Kalaheo; mother, Jeanne Gladys Callahan of Kalaheo; two brothers, David (Sharon) Callahan of Oma‘o, Darryl (Roxanne) Callahan of Lawa‘i; one god child, Keola Burgess; nephews Forest, Rheif, Daevin and niece Nikela; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 16, at Kauai Christian Fellowship from 2 p.m. where services will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Hideichi Yamada
Hideichi Yamada of Kapa‘a, died at home on Aug. 13, 2003 at the age of 89.
Born in Kealia, Kauai on Oct. 15, 1913, he was a Teacher at Kapaa High School and Kauai Community College.
He is survived by wife, Alice N. Yamada of Kapa’a; two daughters, Virginia Yamada of Kapa’a and Bonnie (Frederic) Peel of Kapahi; three grandchildren, Dawn (Elie) Sauma of Honolulu, Lara (Anthony) Hazenfield of Burlington, VT., and Jason (Karen) Peel of Honolulu; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Soichi (Ruth) Yamada of Kapa’a and James (Minnie) Yamada of Honolulu; sister, Isano (Asaichi) Yasuda of Kapa’a; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 18, 2003 at Kapa’a Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Koho Takata will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
