Kaua‘i Soccer Club meeting set
Kaua’i Soccer Club will be having an informational meeting for coaches interested in joining KSC in all boys or girls divisions on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Wailua Houselots pavillion at 7 p.m.

Rainbow Sports, Custom Limo win in HGEA softball
A two-RBI single by Wendall Nonaka pushed Rainbow Sports to a 14-3 win over KFD in HGEA softball played Aug. 19.
Kelly Robinson, whacking three singles, led Rainbow with four RBI followed by a pair from Mike Shimatsu on his three-singles outing.
Royce Ijima, Lenny Nitta, and Lance Nakata, each batter netting a pair of single apiece, each notched an RBI in the win.
Dan Hirata’s pair of singles led the KFD bats.
Peter Ishibashi allowed five hits, walked five, and struck out one for the Rainbow Sports win while Gregg Morishige suffered the loss.
A 9-run first inning paced the Custom Limousine 10-9 win over Hard Knocks with Hank Ibia notching a two-run homer, and a trio of singles by Sam Dias leading the Custom bats.
Brady Tokuda had a pair of RBI on his triple, with Sia Salausa coming up with a pair of singles in the win.
Lefty Didi Ipia picked up the win for Custom Limo, striking out one, and allowing 11 hits with three walks.
Dan Fort suffered the loss for Hard Knocks.
In the third game, Hana Hou forfeited to Nogi’s.
UH Track earns academic honors
The 2004 United States Track Coaches Association recognized the University of Hawai‘i track and field team along with invidivuals Victoria Chang and Hanna Bremler in its release of the NCAA Division I All-Academic teams.
As a squad, UH earned All-Academic Women’s Team Honors posting a 3.20 grade point average under head coach Carmyn James, placing itself in a tie for 27th overall among the Division I women’s programs.
Chang, a junior from Honolulu sporting a 3.76 gpa, and Bremler, a freshman from Tyreso, Sweden posting a 3.61 gpa, are the only two individual Rainbow Wahine named to the list.
This is the second academic distinction for UH since James took over the program three years ago, the cross country program also earning academic distinction last Fall.
Masters Diving at UH this weekend
University of Hawai‘i diving coach Mike Brown will be one of the participants slated to compete at the U.S. Masters National Diving Championships Aug. 22n24 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
Nearly 50 competitors will be divided into five age brackets ranging ages 21n81 with many of the divers previously competing at the senior level and participated in National, World, and Olympic games.
The event is open to the public and admission is free.
