Peters named Store manager
Leonard Peters was named the store manager of the 120,000 square foot Home Depot, which will open in late October here on Kaua‘i.
Peters along with Operations Manager Brian Pearson came over from the Honolulu store which opened in 1999. Peters, Pearson and Merchandising Managers Bryan Garcia and Mark Antony are salaried managers.
The Home Depot has held over 500 interviews during the past week in order to fill 110 staff positions at the store. In addition to the 110 staff slots, 12-15 hourly supervisors will work at the store.
“We had an unbelievable caliber of people come on by for the interviews,” said Peters. “We have had a tremendous reception and response from the community. We truly appreciate it.”
Peters helped open the first Home Depot store in the Pacific Northwest in 1993 in Tacoma, WA.
Sine then, he has held Front Supervisor and then an Assistant Manager positions at the Honolulu store. A second store in Pearl City later opened on O‘ahu. There are five Home Depot stores in Hawaii with the sixth to open late in October on Kaua‘i.
Keoki’s Paradise gives awards
In appreciation of the hard work and commitment of its staff, Keoki’s Paradise is pleased to announce the recipients of its Employee of the Month and Aloha Award for 1st and 2nd Quarter 2003 respectively.
Employee of the Month awards were presented to: 1st Quarter: January: Dan Jensen, February: Roberto Del Rosario, March: Kimberly Reyes. Second Quarter: April: Sasha Rita, May: Adonis Ballesteros, June: Joda Santos.
Keoki’s Paradise also presented its Aloha Award for 1st and 2nd quarter to Trisha Nicholls and Thomas Oliver. Both were selected for going above and beyond their expected duties embodying the Aloha Spirit.

Fruit Leather available
One hundred percent organic Noni Fruit Leather will be unveiled at the August 28-31 Farm Fair.
