The Kapa‘a defender works to clear the ball from the Kalaheo “B” wing during the Girls 16-19 AYSO game played Saturday at the Kalawai Field. Kalaheo “B” went on to take Kapa‘a 9-3 behind three goals by Chandra Desmans. Megan Vento and Melia Prinzing each added a pair, with Summer Ibara and Kelsea Reich rounding out the scoring on a goal each. Kapa‘a’s scores came from Rachel Ganir, Nikki Kunioka-Volz, and Rhonda Rammen.
The girls were playing in a “seven-a-side, short field format,” which according to some spectators, can provide some good play if the girls know how to play the short field.
