The Kendall Pacific race is the eighth and final race in the Aston-sponsored Hawaiian Sailing Canoe Race Series that started on the Big Island in June and will culminate at Waimea Plantation Cottages.
Eight 45-foot, six-person outrigger sailing canoes will depart Kalapaki Beach at 11 a.m. Saturday and expected to reach the Waimea Plantation Cottages around 3 p.m.
Additionally, there will be two or three outrigger sailing canoes that would start from Kalapaki at 10 a.m. These are the three-person “Holopuni” canoes that were designed and built by Kaua‘i’s Nick Beck.
The public is invited to watch the start and finish of this colorful race.
