KVMH holdS first golf tournament
The West Kaua‘i Medical Center/KVMH Charitable Foundation will host its first golf tournament at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Mokihana Course on Sept. 20, 2003.
Sign in time for the tournament is 7 a.m. with tournament format being a two-person scramble with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Greens fees, golf carts, and a banquet luncheon are included in the $85 entry fee.

Matt Kodama strong for UH golf
University of Hawai‘i golfer Matt Kodama finished in second place with a three-round total of 213 (68-69-76) at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by the University of New Mexico, but failed to get support from the rest of the UH team for a 19th place finish.
Kodama finished runner-up to the Lobos of New Mexico’s Ian Medlock who took the medalist honors with a three-round total of 211 (72-69-70), finishing the Championship Course with a five under par.
Despite Kodama finishing three under par, the next closest Rainbow was Kellen Floyd-Asao who finished tied for 70th place.
Arizona State won the team title with a total of 865 (282-286-297), beating host New Mexico by two strokes.
The Warriors will return to action Sept. 29-30 at Ron Moore Classic hosted by the University of Denver.

BYUH water polo soaks Chaminade
The 17th ranked Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i Men’s water polo team demolished Chaminade 18-2 on Saturday, Sept. 13 led by four goals from Dutch Turley.
Two-time All-A,erican Vanja Kalabic blasted in three goals for the Seasiders in the opening match of the regular season.
Eleven players scored for BYU-Hawai‘i who led 9-0 at the half. Scorers included Keith Dow, Jamie Jacobsen who hammered in a pair, and single points from Kevin Bebb, Alan Shumway, Jordan Brink, Steven Pace, Brad Spongberg, Kevin Van Haaster, and Vlada Stankovic.
Aleksandar “Sasha” Stankovic played a great game in goal with 11 saves.
Chaminade’s only scores came from Milos Matiievic and Konstantinos Chaidemakis.
BYU-Hawai‘i plays again on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. against the Hawaiian Masters team in an exhibition match before heading out for their Northern California trip.
