PO‘IPU — ANARA Spa staff members, along with local members of the Spa at the regency Kauai celebrated the re-opening of the Spa which recently completed a million dollar-plus refurbishment, giving the 25-thousand square foot award-winning Spa a refreshing new look and feel.
The event on Thursday evening began with a processional by the Hyatt Regency’s Protocol committee.
Also leading the processional was Hyatt regency Kauai’s Manager of Hawaiian Culture, Stella Burgess. General Manager Jerry Gibson welcomed mayor Bryan Baptiste and thanked the local members for their patience and cooperation during the extensive refurbishment of the Spa.
With the exception of a few weeks in July and August, the Spa remained open for services which were offered in a block of resort rooms instead of on site.
Gibson also thanked Spa Director Robin Jumper and Assistant Director Michelle Campbell for all of their hard work over the past several months while the Spa underwent extensive refurbishment including a new roof.
Musical entertainment was provided by guitarist and singer Kriby Keough.
A grand prize of a free night at the Hyatt and dinner for two at Tidepools Restaurant went to Spa member Jum Cupit.
Work began on the Spa earlier this year with the retilting of the 25-yard lap pool and four Jacuzzis as well as upgrades to exercise equipment in the fitness area.
