Laie, HI — The Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i women’s volleyball team remained second in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll released Tuesday.
The Seasiders who defeated Western New Mexico twice last week on the road, lost one first place vote, but gained 24 points from last week to move 22 points closer to No. 1 UC San Diego.
Third-ranked Cal State San Bernardino closed the gap on the Seasiders by improving from 758 points to 801.
Western Washington moved up to fifth place, giving the Pacific Region four of the five top teams in the country. Hawai‘i Pacific, from the Pacific Region and the Pacific West Conference, is at 14th place in the rankings.
The Seasiders have already defeated Montana State-Billings this week, 30-12, 30-20, 30-21, and play the Yellowjackets again Tuesday night in their final action of this week.
