Clarification for Pop Warner
We appreciate having the Garden Island News cover our Pop Warner Football and Cheer season.
I’d like to make one correction to your September 08, 2003 edition. Richard Morris is our newly appointed League Manager; Leon Gonsalves – League Commissioner, Cherie Linoz – Cheer Coordinator, Susan Oshiro – Treasurer, Jane Garma – League Secretary, and myself, Abe Makanui – President.
It is with great appreciation and respect that I recognize my peers for their unselfish dedication of time and effort to help the Children of Kauai by bringing forth Pop Warner Football and Cheer. We continue to welcome your presence in recognizing our children.
Abe Makanui,
President
Kauai Pop Warner Football League
Bridges need new signage
I love our one-way bridges on the North Shore, but sometimes it takes forever to get across the two-part bridge over the Wainiha River. The signs “Yield to Oncoming Cars” are misleading. Why not put up signs instead which read “Stop for Waiting Cars”? It shouldn’t cost too much for two signs, one at each end.
Perhaps someone would even volunteer to make them as long as the County gave permission. What do the rest of you think?
Barbara Larsen,
Ha’ena
