Antonio “Tony” Guillermo
Antonio S. “Tony” Guillermo of Kekaha, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Oct. 16, 2003 at the age of 37.
Born in Bangui Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Dec. 5, 1965; he was a Cook.
He is survived by two sons, Kaena and Tyler; daughter, Toni; mother, Renata Barit of Kekaha; brother, Frank V. Guillermo of Kekaha; two sisters, Shirley Diamond of Lihu‘e and Renee Foster of Honolulu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha; mass officiated by Father Larry will begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Antonina Calumag
Antonina Dumlao Calumag of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 9, 2003 at the age of 85.
Born in the Philippines on May 18, 1918, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ceferino Calumag of Kapa‘a; two sons, Eddie (Lolita) Calumag of Kapa‘a, Fred Calumag of the Philippines; four daughters, Aning Calumag, Caring Calumag, and Rosie Calumag, of Kaua‘i, and Ester Delos Santos of the Philippines; two grandchildren, Allen and Eileen of Kapa‘a; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews in the Philippines.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 24, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 – 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 – 10:45 a.m. where services will be at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Phillip Lopez
Phillip Thomas Lopez of Long Beach California died at his home at the age of 65. Born in Makaweli on March 7, 1938.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marcellino Lopez; mother, Mary Pavao Medina; brother, Vincent Lopez Sr., and sister, Helen Lopez. He is survived by his step father, John Medina of Lawa‘i; brothers, Patrick (Sweetie) Lopez of Keapana, Ernest (Mildred) Silva Sr. of Kekaha, Alfred Lopez of Wailua Homesteads; sisters, Henrietta Boyton of Wailua Homesteads, Elizabeth (Wayne) Allianic of Lawa‘i, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 25, at St. Catherine’s Church from 10 a.m. with mass to follow at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers to be omitted. Ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Barbara Hookano
Barbara Lehua Hookano a.k.a. Barbara Lehua Mew Lang Wong Kealohapauole Leleo Hookana, died at the Kona Community Hospital on October 6, 2003 at the age of 59.
Born in Honolulu on March 2, 1944, she was a nursery worker and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a salesperson for the Gem’s Stores on O‘ahu as well as a member with the Women’s Bowling Association and a stock car driver.
She is survived by her son, Alexander Mitchell Hookano of Hilo; two daughters, Renee (Ghenghis) Kaaihue of Capt. Cook, HI, Tammy Lynn Wong of Maui; mother, Mercedes Wong of O‘ahu; five brothers, Albert (Audrey) Wong of O‘ahu, Robert (Charlene) Wong of O‘ahu, Warren (Sharolyn) Wong of O‘ahu, Scott Wong of O‘ahu, Calvin Pake Wong of Kailua-Kona; four sisters, Janet Dugan of Arizona, Linda Hutchinson of West Virginia, Eunice Flores of Las Vegas, Tami Tavares of O‘ahu; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sand Island Park on O‘ahu for a memorial service and again on Sunday, Oct. 26, noon at the Iao Needle on Maui. Casual attire is suggested.
