Chamber to hold annual meeting
Members of the Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual meeting this Friday, Oct. 24, at the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort.
Nelson Befitel, director of the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Hawai‘i State Director of Labor, will be the keynote speaker.
At this general membership meeting, members will also elect new officers and directors for the new year.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. with a fellowship hour, followed by a dinner banquet. For more information, please call Sonia Topenio at 245-2172, or Oscar Portugal at 245-6566, no later than tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 20.
Boutique opened Saturday
The Necessories Art Boutique opened on Saturday in Kapa‘a at 4-871B Kuhio Hwy.
The boutique had its opening gala on Friday night, with light pupu and beverages.
There was also a blessing at the gala, which went on from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The guest artists at the gala included Arthur Johnson, David Sacco, Allen Seidan, Dakan and Sharon Leton.
Kaua‘i Divers ready for business
Peter Bonfiglio’s Kaua‘i Divers company, the only one with daily departures from Kapa‘a, is located in Kapa‘a, and has been in business for approximately eight months.
Bonfiglio, the owner and operator, offers 35 dive sites, two- and three-tank dives on the east and north shores, and specializes in customized dive trips.
Bonfiglio has over 25 years of experience in the industry, and offers night trips, Ni‘ihau trips, whale-watching, snorkel tours, private charters, and beverages and pupu on all trips.

Sewing center gets new manager
The Singer Sewing Center/Discount Fabric Warehouse business is under new management.
Erika Floyd is the new manager of the store, while Bill Miller remains the owner. The store has been open since 1995.
Floyd is also a technician at the store, and has seven years of experience in the industry.
“I am excited about the opportunity to help the community on Kaua‘i with new products and a great deal of knowledge about the business,” she said.
The store is located along Kuhio Highway in Lihu‘e, next to Gary’s Service (Chevron).
