Kristen Garma, a cheerleader for the Koloa Pop Warner Association’s Midgets, will be heading to Florida to perform at the halftime festivities of the Citrus Bowl.
Garma was one of seven Hawai‘i cheerleaders invited to participate in the game that will be played on New Year’s Day in Florida.
Due to the high costs of getting there, six of the seven cheerleaders opted not to participate, leaving Garma the sole participant from Hawai‘i.
Garma will leave Dec. 27 with her mom Jane and sister Brandi. The family plans to return on Jan. 2.
Garma has been cheering for two years, and has also been part of the KIF officials brigade for five years as a ball girl.
