Kahuku stomps through second half, 41-3 over Kaua’i
HONOLULU — The Kahuku Red Raiders, ranked No. 11 in the National High School Football “Tony” polls surged past the Kaua’i High School Red Raiders 41-3 as the quarterfinals of the First Hawaiian Bank Hawai’i High School Athletic Association opened Friday night at Aloha Stadium.
With 1:04 remaining in the first half a 3-yard touchdown charge by Kahuku’s Paea Vaimoui pushed them past Kaua’i 7-3 at the half.
Vaimoui exploded for two more scores in the third period as Kahuku came back from the lockers with a halftime adjustment that yielded 27 points over Kaua’i.
With 11:41 remaining on the clock, officials initiated a running clock on the 41-3 Kahuku win.

Under 12 girls basketball signups begin Monday
The 2003-04 County of Kaua’i Agency on Recreation will have registration for the girls’ 12 and under basketball program, Monday, Nov. 24-Friday, Dec. 12.
The age determining date for participants is the age they will be on Dec. 31. Applications are available at all neighborhood centers.
A coaches meeting is Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Lihu’e Civic Center. For more details, call 332-7630.
