U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawai‘i, is scheduled to address the Kaua‘i Anti-Drug Planning Forum on Saturday morning.
The event is one of an ongoing series of meetings held by the County of Kaua‘i with an aim of cutting back on drug abuse and drug-related crimes.
Roy Nishida is Mayor Bryan Baptiste’s coordinator for the program.
Edward Kubo, Jr., the United States Attorney for the District of Hawai‘i, is also attending the meeting.
Nadine Nakamura, the head of the Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance is to tell the meeting about Kaua‘i’s drug abuse problem.
Diane Zachary, also of the Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance, will speak on developing a “Kaua‘i Community Anti-Drug Plan.”
The event is being held at the Kaua‘i Coconut Beach Resort in Waipouli.
