Mahalo to the McCloskeys

On behalf of the Boy Scouts, I would like to extend a big mahalo to Tom and Bonnie McCloskey and the entire McCloskey and Company for allowing us to use their private property for our annual Camp-o-ree. Their generosity and assistance in the planning process resulted in the Camp-o-ree being a resounding success!

Camp-o-ree is an event where Boy Scouts ages 12 through 18 come togther for an overnight outing to apply skills that they have learned throughout the year. The environment was perfect for the young men to utilize their new skills and this experience will help our youth develop into responsible, well-rounded adults. We deeply appreciate the McCloskeys genuine, aloha spirit and commitment to the Kaua’i community.

Student seeks info on Hawai’i

I am in fifth grade at East Elementary in Greenville, Pennsylvania. I have adopted your state as a class project. I will be doing a report and other projects to learn more about your state. It would be helpful if you could print this letter in your newspaper.

I could use anything you send me, such as maps, information on wildlife, industry and interesting places to visit. Anything other than this would be of valuable use to me in my report.
