Nagata joins First Hawaiian
Kaua’i High graduate Keith Nagata has recently joined First Hawaiian Bank as Vice President in the Business Services Division.
The division, which is responsible for merchant credit card transaction processing, handles more than $2.5 billion in transactions each year, more than any other Hawai‘i bank.
“We’re delighted to have Keith join us,” said Don Horner, First Hawaiian Bank President and Chief Operating Officer.
“He’s a talented executive with an extensive background in technology, management experience and deep roots in the islands.”
Nagata had worked for 23 years at Verizon Hawaii, formerly as Director of the Technology and Marketing Center and most recently as Vice President of Sales.
He attended Purdue University and also the University of Colorado.
Fugett is new client
Kaua‘i Economic Opportunity, Inc. has a new client in Michael Fugett, the owner and operator of Volcano Dogs.
Fugett’s business sells hot dogs, polish sausages, chips and beverages from his portable hot dog cart at the front of the Home Depot store. He also sold his food at the Holiday parade on Rice Street on Dec. 5.
Volcano Dogs is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
Sloggett hired as Consultant
Charles Sloggett was hired at American Savings Bank as a Financial Consultant in the Lihu‘e department.
He will serve as financial consultant for all branches in eastern Kaua‘i.
Sloggett comes to the Financial Services Group with over two years experience in financial planning.
Previously, he worked with First Allied Securities, Inc. in Lihu‘e as a registered investment advisor, assisting customers in retirement education and life insurance planning.
Sloggett is a licensed life and health insurance agent and has both series 7 and 66 investment licenses.
Toolmaster celebrates event
Ken and Marta Reichert’s Toolmaster Hawaii, Inc. company recently celebrated its 30th anniversary on Dec. 8.
The roots of Toolmaster go back to Dec. 8, 1973 when the Reichert’s opened the business in San Francisco.
“The success of Toolmaster is directly related to the many loyal and supportive customers over the years and to a dedicated and hardworking team of employees,” said the Reicherts.
The first Toolmaster Kaua‘i store was in Kapa‘a in 1980 before it moved to the Industrial Park II location in 1982.
The store is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and then 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
