Scott Fitzroy Kennedy
Aug. 13, 1951 – Nov. 30, 2003
Scott Fitzroy Kennedy died suddenly on Nov. 30, 2003, in Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i. He was born, literally with blue blood due to a congenital heart defect, in Boston, Mass. to Joan (nee Miller) and Fitzroy Kennedy.
Scott was an avant-garde artist, poet, writer, finish carpenter, storyteller and humorist. He fought a life-long battle against alcohol and drugs and chaperoned many others out of the darkness of addiction.
He leaves behind:
Mum, Joan Kennedy; sisters, Sara (Paul Connors) and Tina Kennedy; nephew, Alexander and niece, Anna Kennedy of Framingham, Mass.; uncle, Edmond Kennedy of Framingham, Mass.; aunt, Nancy (Binky) Anderson of Yarmouthport, Mass., cousins, Duncan (Mopsy) and Chas of Cambridge, Mass., and David Kennedy of N.J.; co-conspirator and caregiver, Ray Freed of Kailua-Kona, and beloved, Karin Stoll, of Lihu‘e. Scott was pre-deceased by his father, Fitzroy Kennedy and uncles, Bobby Kennedy and Weldon Miller.
All in all, Scott was an easy man to love and forgive, and equally infuriating and exasperating, a true human being.
“It is impressive to see a person who has been battered by life in many ways, who is torn by a variety of unsolved problems, yet who is still fighting, still struggling, still striving to find the path to a more fulfilling existence, moved by the wisdom of knowing, ‘I am more than my problems.'” (Author Nathaniel Branden)
Throughout Scott’s life, he was never accused of being dull and he will be badly missed. May he rest in peace.
