Shelter was great
We recently moved to Kauai from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, We brought two cats and one dog with us . Unfortunately it was just before the new rules were put into affect regarding quarantine. So we had to leave the animals at the Kauai Humane Society for thirty days.
The dog, a Miniature Pincher, we found about a month before we were to arrive in Kauai had diabetes and required an injection of insulin every twelve hours. We were very worried about the care that our beloved pets would receive at the quarantine facility.
They, the staff and the facility, were absolutely wonderful. They allowed the two cats to share two cages so that they could visit with each other. And more importantly they made sure that the little Min Pin got her injections every twelve hours and they made sure that she got the special diet that was required for a dog with diabetes.
We have nothing but the highest regard for the Vets and ancillary staff at this facility. They certainly deserve the support of the people of Kauai, especially now that the facility can be used in case of another storm like Iniki.
We want to take this opportunity to offer our thanks and appreciation to all of the great people that work at the Kauai Humane Society.
