Daylen Lee Kai-Koa Apana-Carroll died on Oct. 27, 2003, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
He was born on Oct. 27, 2003, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash. Daylen is survived by his parents Melanie Apana and Dennis
Carroll of Seattle, Wash.; maternal grandfather, Bill H. Apana of Wailua and paternal grandparents Ada and William Carroll of Wisconsin; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His maternal grandmother, Corinne D. Apana died Nov. 17, 2003.
Memorial and burial services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Mass to follow at Immaculate Conception Church and continuing on Friday, Dec. 12, with burial to follow at Kapaia Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Immaculate Conception Church. Casual attire is suggested.
Corinne D. Apana
Corinne D. Apana of Wailua Homesteads died on Nov. 17, 2003, at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Wash., at the age of 49.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1954 in Lihu’e. Preceded in death by grandson Daylen Lee Kai-Koa Apana-Carroll, she is survived by her husband, Bill H. Apana; four daughters: Kuuipo Apana (Alric Alesna) of Kapahi; Melanie Napua Apana (Dennis Carroll) of Seattle, Washington; Crystal Kuulei Apana and Jamie Ui’lani Apana of Wailua Homesteads; son Bill Alika Apana of Wailua Homesteads; brother, Steve (Evelyn) Carvalho of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two sisters, Peggy Carvalho (Jim Ehia) of Anahola; Wendy (Dennis) Bonilla of Kapa’a; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial and burial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Mass following and continuing on Friday, Dec. 12, beginning at 10 a.m. with burial at Kapaia Cemetery.

Ivan Longmore
Ivan Lewis Longmore of Po’ipu, died on Nov. 20, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, Minn., at the age of 68.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1934 to Roy and Maude Longmore in Warba, Minn. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School, Itasca Junior College,
Bemidji State University and earned his master’s degree at the University of Hawai’i. He was united in marriage with Lois Ann Brock of Green River, Utah, on March 16, 1963 at Kekaha.
He was a member of the Y’s Men’s Club and served on the advisory board of the Kauai Community College. He taught industrial arts at Waimea High School and Kaua’i High School from 1960 to 1986 when he was medically retired.
He built his own home on Kaua’i and spent summers at Grand Rapids, Minn. earning his private pilot’s license, soloing in a Cessna Skyhawk in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, two daughters, Monica (Kenneth) Mackley, of Park Rapids, Minn., Debra (Mark) Niemi of Mt. Iron, Minn.; one son, David Longmore of Kaua’i; two sisters, Doris (Harvey) Dahline of Grand Rapids, Minn., Loraine (Myles) Carter of Grand Rapids, and five grandchildren, Andrew, Crystal, Christina and Adam Mackley and Christopher Niemi.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Merrill Mostoller, Harold Mostoller, Cecil Longmore, and sister Mabel Bouchie. Services were held on Nov. 24, 2003 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. George Gilbertson officiating. Burial at Warba Cemetery, Warba, Minn.
Victoria Espino
Victoria Almonte Espino of Kapa’a, died at Wahiawa General Hospital on Dec. 1, 2003 at the age of 94. Born in San Nicolas, Philippines on Nov. 15, 1909, she is survived by three sons, Placido (Esther) Espino Jr. of Makakilo, O’ahu, Raymond (Carol) Espino of Kaumakani and Anthony (Helen) Espino of Philippines; seven daughters, Rosaline Caluya of Pearl City, O’ahu, Mercedes (Andy) Gorospe of Pearl City, O’ahu, Julia McCullen of Honolulu, O’ahu, Alfonza Milagro of Honolulu, O’ahu, Juana (Bestre) Domingo of Kekaha, Geraldine (Elisio) Dureg of Waipahu, O’ahu and Diane (Julian) Esdicul of Mililani, O’ahu; sister, Virginia Savella of
Oakland, Calif.; 46 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa’a; eulogy at 10:45; mass at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at St. Catherine’s church cemetery in Kealia.
