HONOLULU — The Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA) , the state tourism agency, and the National Football League (NFL) are inviting Hawai’i’s youth to learn how to cheer like the pros during cheerleading sessions conducted by two NFL cheerleaders – Kristin Beisel of the San Francisco 49ers, and Shantel Moncito of the San Diego Chargers.
The cheerleading sessions will be taking place throughout the state alongside the NFL Pro Bowl Youth Training Clinics, Jan. 31-Feb. 7.
The cheerleading sessions are free and space is limited to 50 participants per clinic.
Kaua’i’s clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The 2004 Pro Bowl marks the 25th anniversary of the Pro Bowl in Hawai’i. As part of its Sporting Events initiative, HTA is a sponsor of the Pro Bowl. The 2003 NFL Pro bowl brought in 18,000 visitors to Hawai’i, accounting for $28.07 million in visitor spending and $2.72 million in state taxes. The event also brings significant media exposure to the state.
In 2003, the game was viewed by a total of 6,295,300 U.S. households. The total media value was measured at the advertising equivalent of $12,102,014.
